Music Generation Models

I ran the open source Minimax Music 3.0 on a DGX Spark - it's the first model which feels like a viable replacement to Suno.

The original .wav file of the generation below is far better fidelity than this low bitrate .mp3, but the compressed version is linked here so you can hear the quality of the music composition. The AI voice, the instrumental part generation, everything about the musical arrangement, is all produced by the little Minimax model:

That was created entirely on a tiny local hardware box, using completely self-hosted open-source software. This is so exciting to me!

Yue2 is absolutely awesome - I mean genuinely on par with Suno:

It installed in a few minutes, then I had Deepseek v4.1 Flash build a nice UI, which I used to create this as a quick first example:

Of course it can handle all sorts of styles, and one of the truly fantastic features is that it also can generate the written music score for the music it generates. Truly fantastic!
